Hey guys, two questions:

1) If I play a 2 team parlay, and one bet is a push, and the other is lose, do most books give you the money back?

2) When betting on halftime of NBA games, is a bettor betting on the final score or points scored in the second half?

3) I have seen alot of posts on this board about books not paying on long term bets, claiming "bad lines". Should I stay away from those bets altogeter?

Your bet would be a loss

Just the score for the second half

If you can identify a bad line, it is best to notify the book.

Not at cascade rules

Rules for Parlay Betting:

If one selection loses the whole parlay is a loss.

If a selection is a tie, postponed, incomplete, cancelled or rescheduled for another date, your parlay is reduced to the next lowest level. See parlay odds above.

A two team parlay with a tied, postponed, incomplete, cancelled or rescheduled selection, becomes a straight wager that is calculated
at $100 risked to win $91.

Each distinct parlay is limited to a maximum payout.

Of note here is that any push on a 2-team teaser is a MONEY BACK wager even with a LOSS!

This is Vegas rules and applies most places.

my reply:
If you really want to read a nightmare, do a search for Sports Interaction in these forums and read about how they only honor futures wagers when they feel like it.

My advice: I would not wager futures wagers with any offshore book. Too many of the offshore books are run by flakes. I would make futures wagers in Las Vegas. With Las Vegas, you know you are going to be paid. With these offshore books, you only want to play the 4 major sports, and only games not more than 7 days in the future. That way, you can bring a dispute right away and there is less chance for a dispute.

On the other hand, with futures, the dispute may not arise until 6 months down the road. With futures, one book may have 6 to 1 posted on a proposition and another book have 12 to 1 posted on the same proposition. How are you to know if that is a bad line? With Vegas, if you have the ticket, you will get paid. That is true even if the building is no longer there when you return to cash your wager.

When Little Caesars and the Desert Inn disappeared (the buildings literally were not there when people came to cash their futures wagers) -- bettors still got paid.

Thank You
